Family Law Section Members Consultation on the Family Law Act subsection 52(1) Please find attached correspondence from Attorney General & Minister of Justice, Hon. Hugh J. Flemming, QC. dated April 26, 2022. The Canadian Bar Association – New Brunswick welcomes Minister Flemming’s interest in consulting practitioners on this particularly prominent issue and we encourage you to share your thoughts on the options and your views on subsection 52(1) of the new Family Law Act. Please direct your submission to CBA NB’s Executive Director, Denise Cameron, at denise.cameron@cbanb.com. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday May 31st, 2022. CBA NB and Law Society of New Brunswick will be requesting a joint meeting with Minister Flemming and his officials to discuss matters raised.
