September 9, 2026

CBA New Brunswick welcomes Matthew Pearn as its Branch President for 2026-2027 and thanks outgoing President Daniel Jardine of Jardine Sullivan for his dedication and commitment during his term.

Matthew helps his clients resolve large-loss insurance claims, personal injury, automotive insurance and disability insurance claims, professional negligence, and complex commercial disputes.

He is a member of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association (‘Ad IDEM’) and a tribunal chair under the Mental Health Act, making legal rulings to help people diagnosed with serious mental illness. He is also a member of the Rules of Court Revisions Committee.

Matthew has been actively involved with CBA NB for many years. “The Canadian Bar Association of New Brunswick is an organization dedicated to providing lawyers with the necessary skills essential to practicing law and to providing the opportunity to connect with others within the legal community,” says Pearn.

Additionally, he sits on the NB Law Society’s Disciplinary Committee and teaches civil procedure and professional ethics at the University of New Brunswick Law School.

Matthew devotes much time to ensuring that lawyers respect their obligations to clients. “I am honored to serve as President and look forward to building on the strong organization my predecessors have left,” says Pearn.
